I'm about 5'1" and 110 pounds.
5'9" here and healthy weight! NOT petite for me at all... LONG arms and legs... short body though :) LOL -Zygy
Yes, petite. Interesting question.
Keep em coming! 3/4 so far...this is interesting to see!

Mazie
Im 5'3 and fat lol but behave ploy cystic ovary syndrome. So fat is hard to rid for me lost alot since pcos diagnosis tho. 70+ lb
petite is defined 5'4 or under,i forgot to add!
Mazie :o)
5'3" and my weight has changed over the last few yrs....so that is not petite in ne way shape or form at this time...lol...but most typical tops I drown in so I do need to purchase petite clothes....
what may be petite is features, like our nose may be slender .....I actually had a Dr ask if I had mine done....really? It is the nose I was born with and y I always felt I could not breathe I had my adenoids and tonsils removed at age 7...
I have heard this but not sure it is going to fit all of us.....
Okay, this does not pertain to height but I just have to add after reading Selma's post that not only is my height not petite, but neither is my nose :) LOL It just made me laugh when I read that :) Deviated septum but not a small nose :) -zygy
LOL....I really think some of it is EDS related too...I have to look it up.....but as I said not all of us will have the "typical" issues as some do not get the chiari HA's and we do have male members with chiari here as well so it is a fouled idea....I feel they try to classify if u have this u will look a certain way and feel a certain way and we all know that we r all different. The Drs have to stop trying to make criteria and then make us fit the criteria instead of looking at what is really wrong and going on with us...stepping down from my soap box now.....
I am 5'0" 120lbs
Interesting, I'm going to look into this a little more too :)
You know, I always wondered if "petite" was an abnormality. I'm the only one in my family who is perite, in a family of short Italians. My hands, wrists, ankles, etc. are much smaller than the women in my family, on either side.
I'm also the only one who sunburns--including my own children--and never liked macaroni. What a freak, lol!
Here is the info I was thinking about concerning EDS-
Since so many patients are misdiagnosed with another form of EDS extreme caution should be taken with all forms of this disorder. The Vascular Type is a subtype of Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome.
People with the disorder have thin, fragile skin that bruises easily. Veins are visible beneath the skin, particularly on the chest and abdomen, and hands and feet may have an aged appearance. Unlike people with other forms of Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, people with the Vascular Type have skin that is soft but not overly stretchy. Facial features are often distinctive, including protruding eyes, a thin nose and lips, sunken cheeks, and a small chin.(source- http://www.ehlersdanlosnetwork.org/vascular.html)
I have a very thin nose.....no protruding eyes tho....like I said we r all diff and all the characteristics of a certain type we may not have them all, it is one of those same things as we ru into with all of this....there r lists of symptoms and criteria but we all will not have them all....
I am 5'1". It is interesting that I spend most of my time reaching up for something :-)
Wow! Not only do we all share chiari, but are all vertically challenged too! Except Zygy, she is our tall one :) i love seeing all the comments and so far most of us are short.
mazie :)
i'm 5' even. 92 pounds. I'm thinner than my twin sister who does not have Chiari, BUT I am thinner because I have not gained weight back from my surgery back in April and pseudo in May. We were always the same size, with the exception of me being a few pounds under her. She is only 2 minutes older (which I still don't count as being older ;D !!)
My husband has CM. he is 6'1" and about 250. He has worked construction for most of his adult life. Definitely not petite. LOL
Hi and welcome to the Chiari forum.
And thanks for making my point....many of the reports say it affects primarily woman and we know that is not true I really think there r more men, they just do not go to the Drs as much as we do....and I know we r not all petite....
I am 5'5" and 110 lbs. I have never been considered petite because I have to wear longs in pants 34" inseam! lol! I'm short when I sit down! does that count! I am small boned but I am the runt in my family! Maybe that counts! lol!
We need him in our club, to dispell any stereotypes, lol.
The study just said it was found to be more common in females, and even of the females, a very high percentage were considered petite (under 5'4) we know it doesnt just affect one group, or type. Just a few articles i thought were interesting and was curious about our group! This was just a curiousity question!
@MARINE corp, i am the runt also!
mazie
I am 5'9" which is tall for a woman and I have chiari, eds, and Pseudotumor
