throat swelling?

has anyone ever felt like their throat was swelling like under ur chin and where ur adams apple would be?

  Yes ur reg Dr should be able to get the testing for u.....let him know that the auto immune thyroid issue is common for those with Chiari....it is called Hashimoto's thyroiditis.

when my chest starts hurting so doesn't the side of my kneck and throat bothers me

  Could be....when u have testing for thyroid make sure they rule out an auto immune thyroid condition by looking at free T3, free T4 and TOP antibodies along with TSH...even a  ultra sound of ur thyroid can be helpful.

I did see it can cause ur heart rate to go up also maybe thats y mine keeps going up and my chest hurts

so maybe that's what causes the breathing issues also?

  Yes...I did find I do have an auto immune thyroid condition that many with Chiari have, so it could be that.....

okay thank you. it was really bad earlier it scared me... then it started to get a little better after about a hour. but like the whole area right under my tounge just feels really weird...

  Hi...this can be a few diff things, it can be from reflux, a thyroid issue or Chiari by itself.....but yes, throat issues was always an issue for me...I had to have testing for swallowing and could not wear turtle necks or necklaces as it felt like I was being strangled...or my neck was thicker for some reason I think we tend to be hyper sensitive in a lot of different areas....crazy how Chiari can make us feel.
