tarlov maningeal cyst

thank you for answering this. We had never heard of this. He is 29 and the doctors first thought it was a psyatic nerve problem. but he just got this news yesterday. So he has a dr's appt. on Friday. they told him it is 2mm big. so we are trying to find out all we can.

Hi. I have been diagnosed with Chiari and Tarlov Cysts. There is a Tarlov Cyst forum for support.

I just had surgery on my cysts on Nov. 6, 2013. There's really only one doctor who deals with this disease...his name is Dr. Frank Feigenbaum. He is in Dallas and people fly from all over the world to have Tarlov Cyst surgery. You can mail him your sons MRI's and he will do a phone consultation for free..however it takes several months.

  Hi,,,,,yes we have had many members that had both Chiari and a tarlov cyst and some that had just the cyst after being told they had both.

  These cysts like a syrinx fill with CSF, but a tarlov also is within the nerve root sheath ...so they contain nerve  fiber  inside the walls  and typically are asymptomatic....but this does depend on the size too.....
