It is possible that your child has apraxia of speech. I would look into that. I
I think it is best that you find out why he is not speaking before you go any further ,they will tell you if he needs further evaluation ..good luck
Your posting reminds me of our nephew when he was a young child. He did not speak until past three years of age, did not socialize until much older, appeared to be deaf (actually did not understand the "spoken" word - has excellent hearing), late in toilet training, very very picky eater - things you mentioned. He also had an excellent memory, interested in music and numerical items, unable to "infer" - example, if it were raining he would not realize that one should put on boots or a coat, obsessed with "strange" items (his was stop signs), and was easily distracted/upset by anything different or new. Later in life, he was diagnosed with PDD-NOS (pervasive developmental disorder - not otherwise specified) which in on the autism spectrum. All the best ....
You may want to get him evaluated for Autism or PDD.
get another dr opinion
as to food, throw away all sugar; that means candy, cake, pie, snack food, pudding etc.
feed this child REAL FOOD, eggs, water, NO SODA, milk, chicken, vegetables, fruits
spend time with him; that means several hours every day and do not us TV as your babysitter
Not sure what country you are in but basically clonidine is a drug to slow kids down. It will not really deal with the attention problems caused by ADHD. It definitely will not help with the lack of speech. At his age, the lack of speech is a very serious issue. I don't think a hospital is the correct place for help. Especially if all the say is he is ADHD. That does not explain the lack of speech. You definitely need to find better professional help. Or go back to the hospital. Do not mention his activity. Tell them he is not speaking and you need him tested to find out why. ADHD will not do that to a child.
Have u had his hearing checked? That can have something to do wit his speech... and also have u had him checked for and syndrum?
ADHD and "hyperactivity" are the same thing - that's the same diagnosis.
I'm really shocked he's already been put on meds at his young age of 3. I really think you need a better diagnosis, a more thorough testing procedure - children with hyperactivity aren't this delayed in speech, or usually very difficult to toilet train.
best wishes.
ya,i shown to doctor, they said is hyperactive, they given clonidine tab.in another hospital they said, he is adhd.
Deepak, can you get him evaluated by an occupational therapist?
