RUQ pain/normal results

went to the ER with RUQ pain. Got dismissed with normal bloods and normal ultrasound of the RUQ.

Bloods were: (Comapred to routine bloodwork a few weeks ago)
AST 30 (was 23 a few weeks ago)
ALT 12 (same a few weeks ago)
GGT was 7 a few weeks ago.

With a clear ultrasound and bloods can I be reassured this isn't liver related or cirrhosis? Am concerned about AST jump from a few weeks (although did have two glasses of wine night before ER bloods). Also worried about that AST ALT ratio. ER seemed to think it was muscle strain but I'm not convinced.

I'm 30 years old. Definitely partied hard in college and my early 20s but since in the past 4 years or so I only have 1-2 drinks maybe once a week, sometimes twice. I also have been through two pregnancies so drinking has been at a minimum, grew out of the partying.

Gracie.   As Hector has said you have nothing to worry about.  I know that many of us experienced "partying" in our younger years and it's great that you outgrew it.
May you enjoy your children and live a long and happy life.
Take care

- Yes. The anatomical changes to the liver and surrounding blood supply and organs from cirrhosis would have been seen on the ultrasound. Beside developing cirrhosis by age 30 is rare. It typically takes many decades of alcohol abuse to develop cirrhosis. Typically 20-40 years.

Everyone's blood levels change all the time. That is why there is a normal 'range' not a single number. All that matters is if your levels are within normal, healthy range, which your are.

The AST/ALT ratio is irrelevant. The ratio only has meaning in folks with higher than normal levels of AST and ALT.

I agree with ER it probably was muscle pain a very common cause of pain. Liver pain is rare. As far as liver disease or cirrhosis you have nothing to be concerned about.

Be well.
