Have you had any ultrasounds in this pregnancy? If so, how far along were you (by the doctor's count) when you had them, and what due date did they give you?
yes I have had ultrasounds I am about 13 weeks and a few days right now and I have a due date of 1/25/16
When was the ultrasound (in weeks pregnant)? If it was right at 13 weeks, there is about a week margin for error in using it to determine conception, but if it was, say, at 6 weeks or 7 weeks, it will be much more reliable for the pinpoint accuracy you need.
as soon as I found out I was pregnant on 5/21st I made an appointment and it was for 6/5 ..they did an internal sonogram and on the pictures it says gestational age 6 weeks 4 days. im not sure if that's from any specific tests though.i believe that's from the info I gave them of my lmp being 4/20...I did use a condom on the 24th of april the two times I had intercourse ..I really don't believe the condoms failed me
some other measurements on the sono pictures are
3.8cm/1.3/31hz not sure exactly what these mean though
my significant other and I had unprotected sex on 5/1 5/2 and 5/3 ...I had protected sex on the 24th...I really am just finding it hard to believe that I got pregnant from protected sex the day my period ended on the 24th ...whats the likelihood of that annie?my significant other released in me each time over the course of those 3 days and sometimes more than once in a day
So, the ultrasound at 6 weeks 4 days was the one that gave you the due date of 1/25/16?
In other words, this was not a due date given to you later than that first ultrasound?
no I found out this due date on my first appointment
Well, what I suspect from everything you have said is that it is likely that the estimated conception date worked out from your ultrasound matched the date that you would have expected by counting from the first day of your last period. If it had diverged widely, I would think the doctor would have used the date given by measuring the embryo over the reported first day of your last period.
Your information suggests conception was on or around May 3 or 4. That would be too late to implicate the guy on April 24.
Because you don't know absolutely for sure that your 6w4d ultrasound used only the measurements of the embryo to determine your estimated due date, it would be sensible to ask the doctor this question at your next visit. You also mentioned getting a DNA test once the baby is born -- that also is only sensible, since women often worry about this long after the baby comes and it's worth it just for resolution.
so are u telling me that the 6 weeks 4 day gestational age from the internal sono matches the time frame of a may 3 rd conception date.Because im counting like this from 6/5 backwards ...till I cover 6 weeks and 4 days and im landing on the 21st of april which makes no sense because I wasn't even intimate that day...could you explain to me how I count using the 6 weeks 4 days and from which date do I start ?
n yes we will get a dna for sure no question about that
well the 21st of april was about when my period started ...im guessing im doing it correctly
The "weeks pregnant" number given to you by a doctor, ultrasound tech, nurse, or medical report begins on the first day of your last period, not on the day of conception. If a doctor says you're 6 weeks 4 days GA, he means you are about 4 weeks 4 days from conception.
