When I was young, I'd start feeling anxious and bad, but not a full-blown panic attack. To treat it I'd let family or friends present know I needed to scream. I'd go in the bathroom and scream one long, loud scream. It got rid of adrenalin. Going for a run (sprinting) is helpful.
It turns out that we start hyperventilating just a little when we're anxious, and that can lead to anxiety or panic attack. Right now I'm taking 10 mg of amitriptyline at night, and it helps me sleep and also keeps me from hyperventilating. It's not a perfect drug since it causes constipation and weight gain, but right now I need to gain weight anyway and I can treat the constipation.
Wow! I've never heard of that before. Don't get carried away, though. My anxiety/panic disorders morphed into anger problems. The breathing is a very good technique, though! I used to have a friend @ work who'd remind me to breathe now & then. :)
That is good!
If you find that letting out the anger works you could try beating a pillow, this technique I have seen work very well.
that's great. good for you. when i get one i usually walk around and that helps. take care. Remar
