(((hugs to you))) I can relate because I have been there myself. I am sorry that your medication is not working for you. It takes a lot of trial and error sometimes to find the right medication that will work. Are you in therapy? Many people can not afford it but a great alternative is biblotherapy which is basically therapy reading. A book that I highly recommend to depressed people is " The New Mood Therapy" by David Burns, MD
Keep your head up and remember when things get hard is when you must not quit. :-)
The Cymbalta is starting to work , been 6 days now. and i'm feeling better. I just notice that when i frist take it .. about 30 mins later i get real depressed on it. then that fades away after it gets going in my system. Hi, I can't and no one can ever truly understand exactly how you feel although I can relate. I am a young adult and going to college, working part time to make ends meet, and trying to stay involved in church and with friends and family. Through the death of my mother I have completely went insane with my emotions and thoughts. I too have had suicidal thoughts, now I have overcome that not bc of me though . Although God is much bigger than we are and He is our refuge and our strength through hard times. I pray that you will find a way to get this resolved but please don't think bad thoughts and look at all you do have in life b/c that in itself is a blessing. I wish the best for you and my advice is to keep busy don't drain yourself in your problems or you will only become worse. Look to God to give you what you need and find some good friends who can love and support you. Im sorry you have had all this on your shoulders but the Lord knows and He will get you through....that I know....and I will keep you in prayer.....I and many others care about you.....but most of all Christ cares!!!

I HAVE NEVER TAKEN CYMBALTA TILL NOW SO I'M GOING TO GIVE IT A CHANCE TO WORK IF I FEEL I'M GETTING WORSE I'M GOING TO TELL MY DR. BUT, GOING TO TRY IT FRIST FOR A WEEK.

I CARE, MEML HUZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ!!!!!!
Hi, Angel Wings. Please remember, there IS help out there. You may want to try another doctor. If your doctor is non-responsive, ask for some names of some other psychiatrists either from your family doctor or your local hospital. I, too, have been on almost every anti-depressant known. I know how frustrating it can be when you feel like you're not getting the results you need. I'm on Effexor XR; have been on it on and off for years. It's not a miracle drug, but I'm better on it than off of it. Exercise has been known to do wonders for depression. Natural endorphins (the feel good chemical in released in your brain) are released when you exercise. Articles have been written about the benefits of exercise for depression. The most important thing for you to remember is this: you are NOT alone, and there is help for you.
Hang in there. You WILL feel better. I promise. GIve it time. Meditation is helpful, too. Good luck and many blessings.
Ellen
Hi, I was on Cymbalta and it really did nother much for me, everyone is different and perhaps you just have not given it time or it is not the durg for you. If you are suicidal, and have been on the drug for 3 wks., I would think you should be having some results. I would seek help at the ER.
I DO NOT KNOW IF YOU ARE THERE RIGHT NOW, BUT IF YOU FEEL THAT YOU WANT TO DIE NOW, YOU SHOULD CALL HELP ON THE PHONE. I HAD THE SAME, AND I AM TELLING THAT RIGHT NOW I AM INTO THE SEPARATION, SO EVERYBODY HAS SOMETHING. CYMBALTA TAKES TWO OR THREE WEEKS FOR ME, BUT YOU DID THE RIGHT THING, CALL YOUR DOCTOR, IF HE DOES NOT RESPOND YOU, CALL HELP ON THE PHONE, BUT TAKE IT EASY, I HAVE FELT THE SAME AND BELIEVE IS NOT FUN.
I WAS TAKING ANOTHER MEDICINE BEFORE CYMBALTA, AND IT DID NOT WORK FOR ME, NOW I FEEL BETTER, SO I AM RIGHT HERE, YOU ARE NOT ALONE, TELL ME SOMETHING ABOUT YOU, TELL ME YOUR AGE, TALK TO ME, AND CALL HELP, OR 911, DO NOT DO SOMETHING YOU SHOULD HURT YOURSELF, LIFE IS PRECIOUS.......LIFE IS GOOD......
