there are tiny worms involved in the life cycle
Confused. If they are microscopic, you can't see them, so you can't know they are there. Exactly what do you mean?

They are tiny black spots until you magnify them. I used a magnification app. to see them. The adults have a hard turtle like shell, and a protrusion at one end. Shaped like a sesame seed. I wish i could send a pic.
