Hello to everyone.

Good morning everyone, today is the first day I have decided to really kick into gear and get started on losing weight, once I wake up in the morning I am going to trade in my Xbox 360 and invest in some stuff to get training.

Here is a little about me.

I am a 22 year old Guy from Ireland, I am 6Ft and I weight 294 pounds with a bmi of 39.9 , I have no health issues aside from arthritis in my hands which is not severe with a good blood pressure and I am generaly fit.

I went through a deep funk of a depression back in 2007 which got me eating "Jaffa cake bars" Morning, Noon and Night (Sponge fingers coated in a orange jelly wraped in choclate) and 4 liters of coke a day, since I have got out a the depression I have decided to make it my goal to lose the weight and keep it off once and for all but due to moving back from London and breaking up with my EX things got put on hold.

Now with things back to normal and settled into life in Ireland I have decided to commit myself to getting fit, my plans are to start a daily exercise regime by tracking what I have done here and keep a food mistake journal aswell for any slip ups in my diet.

What I am hoping to do is find members who are active daily to give and recive support messages on a regular basis, keep on eye on others to see how they are doing and just generallyfind people to motivate, and to keep me motivated so feel free to send me a message, add me as a friend or just say hi.

I look forward to chatting to everyone and here is to the future!

Well, you've come to the right place; our purpose here is to support and motivate others who are trying to lose weight and get healthy.  Welcome aboard.

I'm sorry to hear about your depression, but happy to know that you are getting back to "living life".

Have you been checked out for medical issues that could cause weight gain and/or inability to lose weight, such as hypothyroidism, insulin resistance, adrenal issues, etc.  It's always a good idea to make sure you don't have health issues before starting a weight loss regimen.  There are quite s few of us on here who do have medical issues, so we have a pretty hard time losing weight.

Have you set a goal weight yet?  Do you have a diet and exercise plan or have you not gotten that far yet?

Did you know that MedHelp has weight and exercise trackers, along with a food diary?  The food diary is great - you set it up, then just input what you ate for the meal/day and it will tell you how many calories you ate, plus give the nutritional value.

We also have a challenge in progress, in which we report each week on our progress - look for the the "WEEKLY CHALLENGE" post. We also have a "Sunday Weigh In", in which we discuss what went right or what went wrong for the week; how we can help make things better, etc.

Again, welcome aboard and good luck to you.
