New study, Calorie Restriction for Better Health

A new study came out supporting calorie restriction for better health even in slim people. The recommendation is a reduction of about 300 calories a day for everyone for a better health profile including cardiometabolic markers.  The reduction in calories not only led to weight loss of up to 10 percent of body weight which helped bounce study participants into the BMI sweet spot that is recommended or closer to it but also had a reduction in cardiometabolic markers that was called significant in the study. 300 calories is not much.  Where it is easiest to do according to the study is not snacking after dinner.  https://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/325745.php

Sounds good to me!

I think the low-calorie diet is very healthy. It is an alternative for long-term weight loss. In general, you need to get 900 to 1,600 calories a day.

Whew, 900 calories a day is not a lot.  Don't think many could do THAT. What I really liked about this article was that it wasn't about massive sweeping calorie cuts.  It was about making a change of decreasing caloric intake by about 300 calories. That's so much easier to do.  And a great place to start for many people.  This is equivalent to a night time snack.  A pop or two.  Things like that can easily be eliminated.

I'm trying it.  :>))  Will let you know how it goes.
