Dogs Head Bleeds

Dr Doctor Aleda
Dog Soft Wheaten Terrier
Age: 9 mons.
Concern: Head Bleeds

Doctor on March 10,2009, I took my dog to the vet to get her remaining shots not received prior to my adopting her on March 01,2009. She recieved the following shots:

Distemper/Parvo/Lepto Booster
Intestinal Parasite
Interceptor Yellow
Heartworm/Lyme Test (Negative)
Rabies Vaccine

Since then, I have noticed what never before that when I approach her in the morning when we awaken, She sleeps in my room in a crate next to my bed, I get her out of the crate she stretches moans and shakes her body to awaken. When she shakes her body off I notice in two areas since her shots she bleeds on the top of her head approx. one inch to center of her head from the right ear and from her neck area under the ear about 1/2 way down her neck.

I initially thought maybe she cut herself or possibly a piece of metal stiking out that might have caused this bleeding. However, I have outruled this theory because I witnessed that when we awaken there is absolutely no blood. I greet her with morning kisses rub her belly she loves soo much. I then place her back on the floor she stretched and shook herself to awaken and like 3 minutes later the blood appears on her skin. So, I clean it off with a wet bounty towel. It stops and she will not bleed for the entire day. Next Morning same place same occurance. Can you explain what might be going on here. I havent noticed this before nor has the previous owner. I did notice this behavior after her shots. It bleeds for like 5 minutes then it stops until the next morning.

Please advise your diligence is greatly appreciated.

Best Regards,
David Ramos

Hi David.
You have posted on the general dogs forum, and I think you intended to post this question on the "Ask a Vet" forum?
I can't answer your question. This certainly does sound very strange indeed. There are others here who might be able to help you, but I would re-post on the "Ask a Vet" to get an answer from the vet here.
