Like Misfits4me said, if you can't take care of your dog, please give him up. It is so unfair to him to let him go so long without eating, you got him and it is your responsibility to help him, and fast. He is suffering terribly.
I know how hard it is to cope with vets bills, but it is true. This sounds quite serious, to not eat for weeks, and to be so lethargic. Yes your dog is sick, and does desperately need to see a vet.
Beg or borrow, but get him there!
Sorry to hear your dog is I'll and especially for so long. Agree with Karla that, if one chooses to have a pet, you have to be Able to be responsible for it's cate. That being said, you don't give much info. Have you tried to contact a Vet at all to see if he/ she would allow you to work out a payment plan? Some local Shelters and specific Breed groups might be able to help. Do you have a local SPCA you can check with? Asking around may lead you to a place you can take your dog for cAre. You might try contacting the AAHA, American Animal Hispital Assic. You obviously have a computer so I suggest you try doing some Google searches for your area. Hope you can get the help you need and your dog is not suffering. If that is the case, you should consider making the humane decision of perhaps relinquishing it to a group to get proper care. Good luck
Hello Shane.....Yes, your dog sounds very ill! We on a public forum have no way to tell you what"s wrong with him/her......I do wish it was that easy!
Unfortunately, it is YOUR responsibility to provide treatment for your friend...Do you have anything you can go pawn at a pawn shop for any extra cash? How about your computer? Couldn't you sell it to save your dog? Do you have anyone you can borrow any money from? Call around to some Vet clinics & ask if they have a payment plan......Some Vets will let you pay a bill out.......Do you have a credit card to charge the amount to?
To do nothing for your dog is considered neglect......These things must be thought out BEFORE you aquire a companion......Dogs are like children and DO get sick! Therefore, you need to be prepared to provide the necessary medical attention.....
Do you have a local Humane Society? Call them and ask if you can turn your dog over to them......They will provide proper medical care & then in turn, find your guy a loving home...... Please, consider this......It is not fair to let him/her suffer........I'll be thinking about you both, Karla
