Kidney disease

I have a 14 year old cocker spaniel who was recently diagnosed with kidney disease. She originally got sick a few weeks ago with pacreatitis, and when she recovered her lab work showed the kidney problems. We have been giving her fluids every other night as well as the epakitin powder with her food. Her blood report was better this last time. However she seems pretty good, has a good appetite ect and I'm wondering if there is anything else that could be causing this disease? We gave her the shot in case it was Addison's and her numbers improved somewhat but not sure if due to shot or something else.
Also the vet recommended azodyl and wondering what you think if that?
