Today, my sweet Ellie (female boxer mix 3yrs old) was diagnosed with Conidibolus. It has also spread to her lymph node.
About a month ago, we originally thought she was suffering from allergies, due to sneezing. As most cases go that I have read, we started a round of antibiotics and cortisone once the allergy medication didn't help. We then noticed a large hard lump in her snout. After noticing this, we brought her to our Vet (for the 3rd time or so...). Our vet advised that we go to LSU-Vet institute due to the fact he was suspicious of cancer or a fungal infection.
After LSU conducted a biopsy, they diagnosed her with Conidibolus and that it has spread to her Lymph Node.
We started her anti fungal treatment and we are using the anti fungal that LSU recommended. I do not recall the name of the drug, since my wife told me this over the phone and I'm away for work.
LSU said that her prognosis is Guarded and they do not know if she will recover....
Can anyone provide me with any feedback or experiences to help me further understand my Dog's chances of bouncing back from this.
Any information at all will help, such as her chances. If she does make a recovery, what can I do to prevent this from happening to her or anything animal I may own in the future?
