4 weeks no voice

Any thoughts on why my voice has been done now for 4 full weeks.  It happens every year to me, and nothing seems to help.  I have seen ENT specialists and they all say "i'm not sure" and tell me to wait it out.  I have tried gargaling salt water, Avelox, anit-fungal medication,a steroid nasal spray, addressed acid reflux for months now, I take allergy pills, ibprophin for inflamation reasons, drink plenty of fluids, and have had throat coat tea for awhile now.

I try to clear my voice and all it is is dry air coming out.  I can't even clear my throat.  I cough and NOTHING....just these dry pointless coughs.

If anyone has new ideas that I may not of tried in the last 20 years of dealing with this please message me.

I have not been tested for that.  I have numerous doctors tell me acid reflux, but I have been on meds for that for months.  I guess I have large amounts of drainage from my nose and at night it sit in my throat.  I cough up mucus at times, and now some of the mucus has blood on it.  All of it comes from my throat cuz I can tell my chest feels clear.

Have you been tested for cough variant asthma?  That will probably require good pulmonary function testing or better yet methacoline challenge testing for definitive results, but that could be the cause of your symptoms.  People with cough variant asthma NEVER wheeze, so they can be harder to diagnose.

Have a blessed day.
