I think the clicking sound is due to your sleeping habits ,avoid sleeping with your ears closed ,always keep them open while sleeping.

A few years ago, I had blocked ears all the time. I had to sniff to clear my ears all the time, and I could hear my own voice very loud when I spoke. The pressure in my ears would only decrease when I lie down. I went to a ENT specialist, he couldn't find anything wrong with me, but suggested he could put a hole in one of my ears to relief the pressure. But I wasn't keen since he didn't even know what was wrong with me.

I tried everything being suggested on forums: eating papaya enzymes, neti pot, etc. Finally, I turned to Chinese medicine. While I was on it, I started to take more notice of my body, trying to gauge if the medicine was making any difference. Then one day, I ears cleared. I was really happy, thinking the medicine must have helped. Then I also noted that I just started my period. Finally, something clicked! I looked back, my ears only started blocking around 9 - 10am, then it got better in the evenings. So it must be the contraception pills!

After that discovery, I stopped taking the pills, and I've been good ever since.

I thought to share this in hope that it might help someone out there.

Best of luck,
SZ
