CHRONIC SORE THROAT, NEED ADVICE PLZ!!

Hello, i have had a sore throat for about 3 weeks now, accompanied by burning eyes. The eye thing only really bothers me at work. I have tested negative for strep throat, dr suggested i try Zyrtec for alleriges. I started taking last Thursday and it has not done anything. I'm getting so frusterated and not sure what this could be. I dont have any cold symptoms. I am 35 years old. I want to go back to the dr but not sure what else to tell them.

all of the sudden i started sneezing and now i have a sore throat it seems that everytime i get sick it my alleriges and it turn into a really bad cold i get it about five times a year if not more. do you have any suggestions
