Yes, it could be a lot of things, but given you young age I don't think it is spinal cord degeneration... my first thought. I hears sounds, creaks and pops, but I am 3 times your age, my cartilage is failing.
I'd try cleaning my ears... I like hydrogen peroxide right out of the bottle I lay on one side and use a syringe to put the hydrogen peroxide in the upside ear. I lay and take the tickle and bubbling noise for at least 5 minutes then drain the ear into a paper towel or sink. I may use the syringe to flush the ear with warm water, and I often use a Q-tip to clean out wax. I believe use of a Q-tip is not generally recommended, but I do it.
