Are you a Medical Doctor ?
If I see this report it seems a sort of cancer with malignant (spreadable) abnormal tissue growth in the right side of ear.

Have your friend use a nasal rinse. This is a saline mixture that is used for clearing the sinuses. Repeated sinus and ear infections can cause this problem your friend is having.
Allergy tests could be done to rule out infections due to allergies.

If your friend doesn't take care of his sinus/ear infections, this will only get worse.
A doctor could also prescribe medications for him.
