For many years now I have suffered with various ear conditions such as infections, perforated ear drum.., and have had 4-5 tympanoplasties, all were unsuccessful.
A month or so ago, I started hearing a popping sound in my ear, followed by the sound of water running through pipes(like in houses and buildings).
After a visit to my ENT, he cleaned out the ear, noticed the perforation, but didn't offer a solution to both the noises and the perforation.
My questions: Would another tympanoplasty possibly make the noise go away?
By the way, I'm 64 and have had mild tinnitus for many years.
Thanks
