Talking after largynitis

I got laryngitis and the flu a few weeks ago. The top of my dresser looked like a pharmacy with inhalers, nasal spray, antiobiotics, etc... Well now I am off everything.  My ENT says everything looks good and I should start talking.  But nothing but a whisper is coming. I am still coughing occasionally, but nothing like it was. My mouth is real dry and my lips are cracked.  I have been putting vasoline on my lips and drinking lots of fluid...mostly water.  But some iced tea, hot tea and ginger ale.  No coffee and no alcohol.  Not sure what else to do to start talking normal again. Any suggestions or ideas would be very much appreciated!!
