Back to back ear infections for 2.5 years

This all started in September of 2014. I had a horrible, horrible ear infection. One of the worst pains I've ever felt in my life. I went to the er and was prescribed zpac. Since then I've had one at least every other month. I've been on several different antibiotics. None of these ear infections were that bad or painful but still there. I had tubes placed in March of 2016 which did nothing. Fast forward to New years eve and I had another one. I went to the doctor who prescribed amoxicillin. This did nothing so I went back to the doctor and she took a sample of the fluid, it was positive for MRSA. She prescribed Bactrum which helped a lot and I was hopeful it was over. I finished the bactrum a week ago and yesterday the infection was back with vengeance. I swear it hurts more then labor. I went back to the doctor today and he couldn't believe how infected it is considering I just had a 14 day found if Bactrum a week ago, "impressive" is the word he used. I'm in so much pain it's making me nauseous. He prescribed me Doxycycline hyclate, as he thinks the MRSA probably didn't clear the whole way with the bactrum. I'm desperate for this to be over. If this medicine doesn't work I want to be admitted until this is figured out. I can't take it anymore!!! I can only imagine the permanent damage this has caused my hearing as well. I need advice on what to do if this medicine doesn't help? Any opinions on if it will work? I'm so desperate for this pain to be gone.
