Pain after laparoscopy

I wondered if anyone who had had a laparoscopy could tell me how long it hurt for.

I still feel quite alot of pain when walking after a week and wondered if that is normal, as everywhere I read that people resume normal activities after a couple of days.

I am not doubled up or anything, its just like having a constant stitch, and when i take a step, especially around my belling button there is a kind of sharp tugging pain. Also some stabbing pains too that just seem to happn even when sitting still.

Just wanted to know if this is usual, I expcet it is, but thought I would ask others who had had similar, who might tell me how long until the abdomen feels normal again.

Thanks

Hi, I am 26 years old and have undergone lap ovarian cystectomy  8 days ago. I came back to home one day after surgery. Doctor said that within 4 days I would get back to my normal life but even today I m not feeling that good although it is improving day by day. I had 3 cuts, two in  pelvic regions and one in belly button and got pain in the belly button and can't walk fast, having problems in straightening the back while walking, after a  15 mins walk yesterday got pain in the back and also in the abdomen. Sometimes the pain in the left side and sometimes in the right side but after a good nap the pain has gone and now having mild pain in the right pelvic region from where the cyst was removed althogh the pain is slight and tolerable but dont know when I will be back to my normal life and join my work.

Found out preg mon 8, by wed pain n blood, by thur at hosp, fri am ultrasound, problem....:(.....I had a lap done that night sept 12 at 930 pm was out n waking by 1030 it was easier than i thought since i was scared to death. 1st preg, ambulance ride, surgery, anesthesia...all firsts! I left in the a.m. at 7.  I peed at 3 but didnt want to wake my hubby at that hour. Home, napped for 3 hours, went for a pedi n full set of gel nails.  Then out to a mini fund raiser for a few hours, dinner, home bed.  Woke sunday morn. With MAJOR pain like cramps...oh boy... musta missed before bed dose of t3...couldnt remember... started packing fr our preplanned 5.5 hour flight to hawaii....visited a friend atthe hosp. Ran to the clinic to double check that my pains were NORMALish? We went, i kept up on my t3 and the other pills they prescribed, forget name. Flight fine, arrive great, hotel, night cap, bed....monday we walked miles on beach n back down streets, tues same...walked forever hit the zoo too...wed rented a car, i got to drive....we did the whole island stopping every lookout and getting in n out of car all day, eating fine, stopped pain killers n the other as of tues night. Thursday we got up n bused to diamond head, hiked it :-) ...all good! Hit the ocean for the first time... nervous about getting wet, glued ...creeped me out! Friday walked all day again....packed for red eye flight... up since 6am....all day.  Flight at 1020... couldnt sleep...arrived 7am our time...drove 1hr home. Settled in...napped for 3 hours...felt good :-) sunday, monday good.  Got small bump on iv hand, dr said blood clot ... not the bad kind....itll go away.  Tues wed....same, clot still there...and then pain started???thurs n fri (today) Hurts to sit, hurts inside, hard to explain....hurts to haveto pass gas, hurts to relax when peeing, hurts to bare down IF theres something there .... but just hurts sitting here, walking....hurts???? Iv clot still there but not as painful as it was. Just this inner pain...hurts.  i remember feeling this b4 the op. But not as strong? called gyno/surgeon but receptionist told her bloating feeling not sharp pains??? Ditz...so i figured wait the weekend n see what monday looks like....feels like im sitting on a water bottle, like its jammed up there? I guess i shouldnt expect no pain but after going days without pain? Seems weird.

Hi.  I had a lap done about eight days ago.  They gave me motrin and oxycodon for after and used them for the first five days to keep ahead of pain.  They removed two cysts a fibroid, a polyp and endo.  I am not going to lie its been more painful than I expected.    I have pains in back and pelvis as well as left leg pain.  I too was told I should be feeling normal about five days but that's not the case.  Each day gets a little better, but still healing.  Give yourself more time than they say.  I am down to taking OTC pain meds now.  Still bloated and moving slow with twinges of pain in back legs and pelvis.  A heating pad does help with shoulder pain.  Also can feel insides a little more during a bm.  But I have faith that God heals me a little more each day and he will do same for you.  Good luck and God bless!

I'm 22 years old and i was recently told i have to remove a 6cm cyst from my left ovary. I'm nervous about my procedure and most importantly the pain i will feel afterwards. What kind of medications were you provided with afterwards? And how long do i actually need for recovery? My doctor says about 5 days, but i have a feeling that might not be enough. I was also diagnosed with PCOS, i'm told this makes it difficult to conceive, has anyone with PCOS been able to get pregnant? if so how, did you need fertility drugs? I'm, not thinking about having a baby soon but i want to make sure i will be able to when the time comes.
