i have had brown ish areas sorrounding the middle of my eye is it because of stress... or inherited my mom is from trinadad and has them too but my dad is british
the problem is in the conjunctiva not the sclera, the conj is ON the sclera. These are not normally removed unless they show evidence of premalignant change which is rare. In blacks and darkly pigmented skin persons these are normal and almost never cause problems.
Since you are thinking cosmetic removal none of the costs will be covered by insurance. How difficult it will be depends on the amount and depth of the pigment. There are possible side effects including reoccurence and scar formation, redness and irritation post op that might be worse than the small spot which most people don't notice.

In the sclera of th eye I have (conjunctival melanosis), can this be removed for cosmetic reasons?
Thank you for your message, Dr. I went to see a doctor today it was indeed an eye freckle (conjunctival melanosis). Thanks again for your help!
Yes, ask your contact lens fitter to look at it with a slit lamp. If there is concern refer you to an Eye MD opthalmologist. The risks however of it being anything other than a "freckle" on the eye is relatively small
