Scratched eye-not healing

I typed this once but do not see it, so I apologize if it is a repeat
I scratched the sclera a week ago.  I was put on antibiotic drops.  At day 5 it was but better so they put my on antibiotic ointment.
How long after starting ointment should I start to see improvement
How long will my eye be red
Is it normal for the ointment to sting

These questions cannot be answered with any certainty as each 'scratch' is different. You will need to ask the Eye MD ophthalmologist you see or a non-physician optometrist. Also it is unlikely you scratched the sclera since it is covered by two layers the conjunctiva and Tenon's fascia. Likely you scratched the cornea.
