Can all degrees of Solar Retinopathy be found during an eye exam?

I used a high-grade solar filter and 100% UV-blocking sunglasses to catch a glimpse of the solar eclipse and ended up with what seems like a minor-medium amount of solar retinopathy.

Can all degrees of Solar Retinopathy be found during an eye exam?

The short answer is no.  the primary symptom of significant solar maculopathy is a central area of blur or distortion or blank space.  The number of significant solar damage to eyes world wide is much much less than expected and our practice received virtually no calls are we are (our North office) in the area of totality
