Replacement of RESTOR with monofocal lens

My wife was operated for cataracts (Left eye) on 23/12/2009 and ReSTOR diffractive lens was implanted. Till today (i.e. evenafter 4 months) she is finding it difficult to see the things in near region. Spectacles as adviced by Dr. did not worked. Eye surgeon says that it may take more than 6 months to set with such multifocal implanted lens. Under the circumstances my wife wants to remove the implanted ReSTOR multifocal lens and replace it with monofocal lens. We have consulted three eyesurgeon.Out of them only one Dr. has agreed to do such surgery and replace the multifocal with monofocal lens. We are confused. She is disturbed mentally. Other Drs. advices to spend more time for adjustment but she is finding it very difficult.
Kindly advice what is the correct thing is to be done. Should we wait for long time or ReSTOR lens can be replaced.

Thanking You
Rajesh

I had REZoom multifocal lens implanted in my right eye two weeks ago. Everything is blurry but through the blurr, there is some focus. Sort of like looking through tears. I'm getting frustrated.no improvement in two weeks. The doc mentioned halos and poor night vision, and i do not have halos and my night vision is ok. i can see well around the house, but in natural light things just get blurrier. if someone is bicycling on the side of the road they tend to blend in to the terrain and i dont even see them. is this normal???? my left eye is scheduled for the same procedure in two weeks and i think maybe i should cancel and see what happens with the right eye. if both eyes were like my right eye, i dont think i could drive or even walk on uneven ground.

I would recommend waiting.  The lens can be exchanged after 6 months.
