I have to have EDTA chelation on my right eye every year due to band keratopathy. (I have had a silicone filled eye since 2009, due to a botched retina surgery, where the ciliary body was destroyed) I have some vision in that eye. My newest eye doc has twice suggested I have the eye removed. (I have to have the EDTA material flown in, since there are no STERILE compounding pharmacies in Florida) I have some pain in the eye once the calcium builds up and the chelation isn't fun each year, but removing an eye seems quite extreme. My doc says "you aren't ready yet". When would someone be ready to remove an eye?
