high myopia and computer games

Hello doctor.I'm 19 this year and have a high myopia of −6.75(left eye)and −6.25(right eye) diopters.I do not want higher diopters.Is it fine to me if  i play First Personal Shooting PC games(FPS) such as "medal of honor"or "counter strikes" only for a very limited time?(e.g.30mins per time,once a week)Is it still harmful to my eyes?Thank you !!!!!

The role of near work in causing progression of myopia has been under study for 50 years without any definitive conclusions. It probably plays some part in some people. Most Eye MDs would not tell you to stop using the computer but suggest every 10-15 minutes you look away from the screen, focus on something very far away (out a window is perfect) and blind 5-6 times. This stretches and relaxes the focus muscle.
