strabismus

I had eye surgery on 7/22/09 to replace the damaged implanted lens in my left eye. I can see well with both eyes individually(closing one eye). But I have double vision when I open both eyes. It is bad in the morning, but gets slightly better in the afternoon. The opthalmologist  said I may be needing prizm lens, but at present the prizm is too high. Is this condition called Strabismus? Is there any treatment for this?

IOL (intra ocular lens),  the implant.  Muscle imbalance can be corrected by surgery.  This problem should have been present before your cataract surgery.

It is strabismus if due to muscle imbalance and it can be corrected.  If due to the IOL, it may be more difficult to correct.  Get a second opinion.
