Calling All Women of Strength!!!

A Strong Woman VS. A Woman Of Strength

A strong woman works out every day to keep her body in shape…
But a woman of strength builds relationships to keep her soul in shape.

A strong woman isn't afraid of anything…
But a woman of strength shows courage in the midst of fear.

A strong woman won't let anyone get the better of her…
But a woman of strength gives the best of herself to everyone.

A strong woman makes mistakes and avoids the same in the future…
A woman of strength realizes life's mistakes can also be unexpected blessings and capitalizes on them.

A strong woman wears a look of confidence on her face…
But a woman of strength wears grace.

A strong woman has faith that she is strong enough for the journey…
But a woman of strength has faith that it is in the journey that she will become strong.

mommyin10-  Lots of luck with that test.  That stuff gave me the poopies yesterday after we left the doctors office.  It was no fun.  :(  Doc said if I pass then no news is good news.  He'll only call if there is a problem and the results should be back by 9:00 am this morning.  I'm sure it's going to be fine though.  I am sending you lots of luck for your repeat test.  It sounds like such a pain.  I can't wait to see the baby again in two weeks!  I want to know how much she weighs now.  It's been about 6 weeks sine my last U/S plus another 2 so she should have gotten much bigger...  Oh and guess what DH and I bought last night???  Her first Barbie!!!!  But not just any Barbie this is a Harley Barbie that comes with a pink and gray Deluxe same year as ours.  It is the cutest!!!  I think I am going to wrap it up and bring it to the baby shower as a gift to her from her Daddy.  I am so excited to get it.  ;)  Well that's it for me.  Good luck today and I'll look for an update today from you.

ad_06-  Congrats!!!!  I am so happy that you heard the baby's heartbeat and things are looking well.  I remember jumping ahead almost a week and was super excited but I have been sooooo sick this entire pregnancy with one thing or another.  I can't wait until she is just here!  Congrats again.  Iam so happy for you.

Mommyin10: I bought the Medela Advanced back pack one. I know Medela is basically the top brand you can use besides a hospital grade one. I also bought nipple shields - When I tried to BF DS, it stung and burned which is normal, but one of my friends who just recently had hers was complaining it hurt to BF so bad. I heard about these shields and suggested them to her and she said she can nurse pain free now!!! So I bought 3 of them since I'm sure they are easy to lose lol. I ordered those online b/c I had to order the double stroller online also. I know they carry them at Target and Babies R' Us just in case you are interested. How did your appt. go? I may have missed your update somewhere... :-/ Have a good day!

sbumblebeeo: I'm glad your appt. went well!!! Yay for no dilation also :-) We've been getting a bunch of snow here also...It hasn't stopped snowing since basically Friday (we've a had a few lull's in it, but that's it).

Ad: Glad your appt. went well also!!! I'm glad you got to hear and see your little one :-) Isn't it just amazing how much they grow?!

lilmzk: I'm sorry about your BFN...but it's not over until AF shows! I do hope you get your blood results much sooner than the 22nd.

Nothing much here - DH got the big bed moved to the spare room today, so I'm going to get that made up and put the rest of that bedding up there. Maybe put up the crib if I'm really ambitious lol...I have DS home with me today and tomorrow so between doing activities with him and some preschool work, we'll see what kind of time I have lol :-) I'll check in later today! Have a good day everyone!!!

Hugs, Love and SSBD to all :-)

lilmzk: I'm sorry about the bfn ;( I agree w/dnikki, though. Stay positive & hopefully it's just too early!

sbumblebeeo: I didn't realize you had your glucose test yesterday. Well, hopefully you don't hear from your doc, then! ;) Mine said she'd call to
check on me this week, so I'll probably hear from her today w/my results. The Barbie sounds cute :) When's your shower?

dnikki: I didn't have an appt yesterday. I'm just waiting for my glucose results. My ob doesn't work Mondays, so I should hear f/her today.  My next appt w/the high risk doc is Friday, and also my appt w/the physical therapist. I'm just going to learn more exercises to do while in
bed to keep the blood flow in my legs. Thanks for the info. I'm planning to purchase my breast pump, as well as some baby essentials online today.

Mommyin10: Oops, thought you had an appt. yesterday - Hopefully your results are in today and that you passed with flying colors! I'm glad you're going to see a PT, that way you can keep up on circulation throughout your body...Your welcome! You do have to love online shopping lol! When I'm done organizing the nursery, I'll write down what I need yet and depending on the weather (it's snowed almost all day everyday since Friday and it shows no signs of stopping!), I'll either go out and buy them or just get them online :-)

Hmmm....Do I want to attempt to put the crib up today or not....That is the question lol!

dnikki-  Hey just wanted to let you know that my sister had a hard time getting my nephew to latch and a nurse gave her some of those shields and she was nursing trouble free before she knew it!!!  With those it was easy to get him to take to a bottle too b/c he was already use to that "plastic" (for lack of a better word).  It was funny though b/c I would have to hold him really close and tip him like she did when she fed him to take a bottle from me.  I was wondering where you get them at since her nurse gave her some so thanks for the info.  We have been getting pounded with snow too.  I just called DH and told him it wasn't worth me coming home for lunch.  Not enough time so he's going to bring me something.  Awwww how sweet!!!

Mommyin10-  I'm confused now.  Yesterday the doc said that he would only call if there was an issue and DH just called me and said that the nurse called about my test results.  But when I checked my test results online it said that it came back at 112 and then it gave a normal range which I was in.  No big deal, right?  It was a little high but still normal...so what does the nurse want?  I tried to call her back and of course she isn't in right now.  Hopefully she'll call my cell phone back when she gets my message.  I really don't want to have the 3 hour test you have.  That stuff made me sick.  :(  I'll let you know what she says.  Hopefully she is just calling to say it's ok but just watch my sugar intake or something.

Ok so the nurse called back and my diabetes test is fine.  A little high but normal.  It's my iron that is extremly low.  I now have to take an iron suppliment twice a day along with a stool softener.  Does the fun never end?????

sbumblebeeo: Not a problem! I had a lot of issues getting DS to latch on also and no one ever told me about these miracle shields lol! I'm hoping BF'ing goes much better this time around :-) Our snow has finally let up, it's light but it's definitely still snowing. That's so sweet of your DH to bring you some lunch :-) I wouldn't want to drive in heavy snow more than I have to! On a different note, I got the crib put together today :-) I now remember why I had DH take over half way through the last time lol!! That thing is a pain in my rear, but it's done. I'm just going to have DH check it over tonight before I make it all up tomorrow and he can tighten any screws that maybe I didn't get tight enough. How are feeling now? Are you still as nauseated as you were?

Well, I got the crib put together today. I'm going to have DH check it over tonight and make sure everythinig is tight on it and then I can make it up tomorrow and get started on that :-) Just doing a little at a time so I don't wear myself out... I'll check in later!

Well, got my results back & I have gestational diabetes! ;( It's ok. It's just another "thing" to deal with. It's just odd that I'd be hypoglycemic (low blood sugar) pre-pregnancy & now I've gone the total opposite way. I'm waiting for a call f/the dietician. Should hear from them by Friday. They'll talk to me re: diet, meds, etc. Since I can't exercise, I may have to take insulin or another med. I think if I get it under control, tge babies should be ok. That's the only thing I'm concerned about. I'll do whatever I have to & like I said, this is just another hurdle... there have been so many! ;) dh came home for lunch & made me a turkey sandwich :)

dnikki: That's great you got the crib put together! :)

sbumblebeeo: Congrats on passing your glucose test :) Dont worry about the iron. It's an easy fix. My prenatal has iron, but I also take an extra iron pill.  I've never needed a stool softener, but I drink A LOT of water & eat fiber, like Raisin Bran fir breakfast.

Mommyin10: Awww pooey! I was really hoping you passed it! I'm glad you're taking it in stride though - a lot of women don't :-/  Like you said, as long as it's under control and such, the babies should be just fine :-) At least you know now even before the dietician calls and you can avoid high sugar foods...At least this is fixable also and only temporary!!!

Keyan: Where are you???!!!

mommyin10-  I'm sorry you didn't pass.  Mine came back in the normal range thankfully but at the very high end and like you I was hypoglycemic before so I expected it to be way less.  Oh well I guess.  Like you said it's just another hurdle.  That is how the iron thing is for me.  Another thing to deal with.  I'm grumpy about the whole thing and DH didn't bother to listen to what type of pills they told me to get and bought the wrong thing, completely forgot about the stool softners that go with it and went and got his son for the night and we were supposed to take our birthing glass tonight so now I'm just NOT going to do any of it.  It seems like he only listens to shut me up but he certainly isn't hearing me.  I am really frustrated right now and don't want to go home and deal with him or his son which is a whole other issue that I can't get into now b/c its'a long discussion.  You are soooo much better at this pregnancy thing than I am.  It's too bad it has to be so rough on you.

Congrats on all the pregnancies and babies!!!!  WOW!!!

I have been cancer free for 9 months now, tapering off my "crazy" meds, happy in my marriage, gained 22 pounds since I finished chemo in May (I call it fat n happy)....I am doing fantastic.

I am doing IVF this month and just had my antral follicle u/s this morning and I was a little upset because I only had 10?!?!?  I am 30 years old  and the doctor thought it would have been better than that.  I was originally only doing follistim as my meds, but now he has added menopur.  I wanted to know if any of you have experience with IVF and can share a little.  I haven't done much research about it because I think last time we TTC I was a little research crazy.  I knew there was a chance my eggs would be diminished from chemo, but the risk was small...I guess my body is acting more as if it was 35ish than 30.  I'm just nervous that maybe the chemo killed all my eggs?  Is that possible?  I was so calm and hopeful until today and now I am full of nerves.

Any info/advice would be great, thanks!

Mamushko- I'm really sorry that your test came back negative, but I know pregnant woman who got GD during their pregnancy and after they gave birth, their blood sugar return to normal. I think that my sis with her first pregnancy got GD but I'll need to check that, when I find her on-line I will ask her for sure. I wish you to regulate your blood sugar with diet! No insulin, please Lord!
As you know my DF is diabetic almost 20 years, he takes insulin 3 times per day. I will suggest to you to eat vegetables, yogurt, low calorie cow cheese, chicken, fish, I don't know word in English = the son of the cow - beef ???meet, fruits (but not all of them, no bananas but if you can't live without them you can eat half banana per day. No white bread/macaroni or any pasta, or pork meat. You will get for sure the diet list from your Dr, too.
I'm thinking also because you are in bed rest (you are not physically active) and maybe your Kalium level is low, my DF's Dr suggested to eat fresh tomatoes. If you can use any feet massage tool it will be super for you.
Take care, God bless you & take good care of you!:)

Thank you for your note, too!:)

sbumblebeeo: I'm sorry DH isn't hearing you...sometimes men just really don't understand what goes on during pregnancy. Especially the hormonal part and that anything can set us off!!

AmyG: Wow! Congrats girl!!! Good luck on your u/s at the end of the month :-) How are you feeling?

Michelle: Congrats on being cancer free for 9months and getting ready to start the IVF process! How exciting! 10 eggs is still a great number!! Remember, it only takes one ;-) I haven't been through IVF (just 2yrs worth of IUI and meds lol) but some others on here have. They can give you more advice than me! Good luck with everything and please keep posting on here! It's nice to hear from you!!!

dnikki & sbumblebeeo: I'll admit when dh came home for lunch, I cried ;( It was a quick cry & I kept telling him I'm ok because he was so concerned (I never cry!) I think it's just overwhelming to always have something new thrown your way. My only concern is for the babies. As long as they're ok, I'll do anything I have to :) I have an appt with the nutritionist tomorrow afternoon, so I'll find out lots of info then.

Hannah: it's nice to hear from you. It's been a while! I'm sorry to hear you're still feeling down... It's great they've got you on clomid. I'm not sure why you'd take it after O, but I guess your doc knows what he's doing :) Take care & check in more often!

Lina: Thank you :) Yes, my ob said because I can't exercise, they may put me on meds or insulin injections. I do take a calcium pill & have since before becoming pregnant. A foot massage sounds amazing :) My body is tired & sore from laying down so long... I was hypoglycemic prior to becoming pregnant, so I did follow a pretty strict diet. I have an appt tomorrow & will learn exactly what I'm in for! I'll update tomorrow. I appreciate your help :)

Amy: Congrats! That's great news :)

michelleinhawaii: It's good to hear from you & congrats on being cancer free for so long :) I had a day 3 fsh to determine ovarian reserve, so I can't help with your u/s results. I did IVF in July, so I'd be happy to answer any other questions or concerns. Best wishes to you! :)

mommyin10-  It's not going to be fun at all for you.  My DH is diabetic and has to take insulin everyday now.  You will have to count carbs as well as sugars b/c (you probably know this) carbs break down in your body as sugar.  I don't know what kind of goals they will set for your every meal but I expect that is what will happen.  DH is supposed to have 35 carbs per meal and that isn't very much when you consider that you can get close to that in two slices of bread for a sandwhich.  I truly am sorry that this is another thing you have to deal with.  It just plain s u c k s.

I started taking the Slow FE last night and got an upset stomach but I thought that was b/c DH's parents went to his ex wifes house to drop of my SS xmas gifts finally and his dad did nothing but run his mouth about how this is all my fault and I am to blame b/c it was all about spending the holidays with JUST my family.  They acted as if they weren't even invited!  She called us and was asking what to do with the gifts.  The drama with these people never ends and right now it looks like they aren't even going to participate in the shower at all.  Well anyways I took it again this morning and sure enough its the iron pills that is making me sick to my stomach.  I should have asked if I could stop them after my iron levels get back up in a few weeks.  I know that getting here was a battle for us but I sure wish that the rest was a little easier.  Like you, I never cry, and I broke down a little in my car on my way home too.  It's just too much.  There is more to the story about DH and his inability\desire to hear me when I talk too.  We got into it last night about that b/c I told him it didn't feel like he cared.  I know he does but not enough to committ anything of importance to his memory bank??  Then he made a comment about how he took me to MY doctors appointment.  Um... I thought that was the one thing he could do to help out with bringing this baby into this world.  He loves to tell me it's OUR daughter then it's OUR responsibility.  I think all this with his parents is really getting to him.  He can't focus on much else yet he won't call them and talk to them and try and get it semi resolved.  At this point I don't even expect to see them at the hospital.  I mean to say THEY ARE NOT INVITED!  I do NOT need to deal with that on top of being in labor.  This whole experience hasn't exactly been what I thought it would be....

Well I'll let you get some rest.  I'm done whinning about poor me.
Thanks for listening.

dnikki: Happy 34 Weeks!!! :)

sbumblebeeo: Gosh, I'm sorry you're going thru a rough patch w/dh! ;(
I bet it does have to do w/his parents. That's very stressful & I'm
sure he feels responsible because they are his parents, even tho
he shouldn't feel that way. You two should have a talk. You've got to be
a united front & face outside issues together ;)  Hang in there!!! Thanks. I'm not worried about counting carbs or insulin shots, if in fact I need them. My only concern is for the babies, but I have my appt today, so I'll learn how to get things under control :)

I forgot to ask if you need to take your iron pill twice oer day? I take one & I wanted to mention that I take mine in the morning because it absorbs better with vitamin C. It also didn't absorb as well with one of the pills I take in the evening, but I can't remember which one. So, I take it in the morning & it's never upset my stomach. Hope that helps a bit ;)

I have to take them twice a day...  :(  I tend to take my pills at night time b/c they often make me sick to my stomach.  I even use to take birth control pills at night for the same reason.  I am not one to take even asprin so maybe it's made my tummy sensitive.  I dont' know.  To think of all the wasted years on birth control... makes me laugh.

As for DH and I... we'll be fine.  I do think he needs to confront them about this and stop letting it stew in his belly.

lilmzk- I am sorry it was negative:(  I hope that you will still get a positive:)

mommyin10- Yes, I like Justin but my husband doesn't.  I do like Ryan better though.  Justin also has an S in it so that's not good for me.  I finally got to hear the bby's heart beat again so that was cool.  I felt so relieved when I heard it.  She said that my uterus is right where she would expect it to be so everything looks good.  I am going to schedule a 20 week ultrasound.  I think my next appt. with my ob is Feb. 4th.  How was your appt?

sbumblebeeo- I am glad to hear that you have not dilated at all.  How have you been feeling?

Mommyin10 sorry to hear about you diabetes. My sister had the same when she was pregnant unfortunatelyshe isn't one for looking after herself and 23 years after her daughter was born she still has,it thing is if she would lose weight and have a healthier diet.I think if you follow your docs advice you will be fine.

Hannah great to hear from you sorry you are feel low but i'm glad you are still ttc I hope things get better for you don't forget we're here for you.

AFM well I had a panic this week cos my pharmacy couldn't get a hold of my injection but thankfully they came through for me and i'm all good to go tomorrow.
I am slighty worried because they doc said there could be some sides effects simialar to going through the menopause urgh. Also this injection is a intramuscular one and i'm not quite sure what that is sounds painful.I will update tomorrow.

I had intramuscular injections during my IVF. One was an hcg trigger & tgen I took the intramuscular progesterone injections for 2-3 weeks. I can't remember exactly. You'll be fine :) I would ice the area first, dh would do the injection & then I'd rub the area & apply a heating pad. That was our routine ;) What's your next step after the injection?

kmcarino: Sorry, I copy & pasted your message, but didn't respond ;) I'm glad your appt went well! I haven't had an appt yet. I got my glucose results yesterday & tested positive for gestational diabetes, so I'll see a nutritionist today. My next appt with the high risk doc is Friday.
