Thank you very much Lyn.I really appreciate your input.Looking at the numbers I feel very comfortable approaching Advanced Fertility Center Of Chicago.
What do you think my chance to conceive this cycle? All four were transferred and I am in 2 WW period.
IVF results:13 eggs retrieved,only 4 fertilized.
Embryo quality:4 is the best at my clinic.(at 72hrs)
#1 ;Grade 2, 4 cell
#2 and #3:Grade -2 (Minus 2) ,6 celled
#4: Grade -2(Minus 2) ,5 celled.
I am terribly stressed out regd if I will conceive this cycle. Please let me know.
Thanks,
Richa.
Yes, a day 5 compacting morula is not a terrible thing because it is the pre-cursor to an early blast. If we have two embryos, one that is blastulated and one that is a cm, we will transfer both. If none of the embryos had made it to blast, we might cancel unless the cm was really nice.
Its ok to overthink, we are women and its our god given reproductive right to have children, and when something stands in the way of that, we are going to over think it. Cause that is what we do!! No worries -- and never too many questions!
Hello! I am a formr resident of Champaign so I quite familiar with the area. I don't really feel like I can recommend one clinic over another because I work in IL and honestly am probably very biased -- but I can give you their success rates ;c)
For Under 35:
Number of cycles 174
Percentage of cycles resulting in pregnancies 51.1
Percentage of cycles resulting in live births 44.8
Percentage of retrievals resulting in live births 47.0
Percentage of transfers resulting in live births 48.8
Percentage of transfers resulting in singleton live births 27.5
Percentage of cancellations 4.6
Average number of embryos transferred 2.0
Percentage of pregnancies with twins 38.2
So all in all -- those are great numbers and I would feel very comfortable there. The most important thing is finding a doc you feel comfortable with.
It is hard to know why the fert rate was so low, but in combination with the embryo quality issue it could be an egg issue, but onc again those could both be caused by poor sperm quality too.
I would not give up SO easily because you are so young, I think you still have great chances of success. We can learn a lot from the first cycle which helps in subsequent cycles so try not to get too down on yourself! Good luck!!!
Richa.
Thanks for your input...you're a very dedicated practioner, kudos, babynr.
Thanks for the breakdown on the egg situation!! I over think everything, it's awful! I'm so glad that I ended up having a few eggs that were good, I feel so lucky. I got a call from the embryologist at my clinic, Pacific Fertility Center in San Francisco, and he said that my blast was beautiful and it's one you would find in a textbook!! I was very pleased to hear.
My final and last question (hopefully) is if it is necessarily a bad thing that my other embryo was a compact morula at day five? They gave it a grade 2, grade 1 being the best. Is it still possible that once it is back in it's natural environment it could catch up? I've never heard of a day 5 c/m.
OK OK, I'm done asking questions. The next time you hear from me will be after my pregnancy test next week. Promise! Carisa
Hi,
I am 30 yrs old with PCOS and stage 1 endo.
I underwent 4 IUI with letrozole+FSH injections and first IVF recently.
IVF results:13 eggs retrieved,only 4 fertilized.
Embryo quality:4 is the best at my clinic.(at 72hrs)
#1 ;Grade 2, 4 cell
#2 and #3:Grade -2 ,6 celled
#4: Grade -2 ,5 celled.
All four were transferred and I am in 2 WW period.
I am very disappointed about the whole cycle. Can you please tell me why you think :
1)The fertillisation was so low?
2)The embru quality was not good.
3)From your experience what is my chance to conceive.
I live in Champaign,IL south of chicago. Can you tell me as which place is best for me to go for the next cycle if this fails.I am planning on Advanced Fertility of Chicago,do you have any opinions about it.
Thanks a ton.
Richa.
