Struggling

I am new to this forum, but not MedHelp. Basically I am suffering from sever ongoing stomach pain, inability to eat or eliminate food. My situation is, I too am treating for hepatitis and have been for 30 weeks.
My primary doc has referred me to see a GI but that will not be until 9/23, not good. Working on having that date changed. Right now I take 40 mg of Nexium 2x a day.
Is there anything I should do to relieve this discomfort while I wait to see a GI?

Hi and welcome to the GERD forum.

Yes there are a few things u can do...one avoid greasy, spicy, acidic foods, as well as carbonated bevs, caffeine, and alcohol.....u will know which foods trigger a flare of symptoms....so u may have to add to the basic list.

Do not lay down for 3 to 4 hrs after eating, elevate the head of ur bed
6 to 8 "s

Keep a journal of what u eat and how u feel......this will help ur Dr understand what and how u r affected.

Good luck and do keep us posted on how u r doing.

Just wanted to let you know, I have been taking zofran on a regular, and have been able to start eating better, and it to me is wonderful.

I know how u feel...from the time I was very young I had issues with toothpaste so much so that I could not use it, it is the mint...so I use a gel flavored with cinnamon works great for me, but the mint tooth paste and OJ made AM's even worse....

Take care : )
