My doc didn't really go into the details of my procedure, but she took 42 biopsies and I called the hospital for my results. All I was told was that I had Celiacs. I just would like to know what a few things on this report mean.
I will not put down everything thats normal, just the things I'm curious about. :-)
Duodenum Biopsies: Increased Intraepithelia lymphocytes
There are increased intraepithelial lymphocytes. The architecture is otherwise unremarkable.
Stomach Biopsies: Reactive Gastropathy
The initial and step sections show segments of gastric mucosa. The foveolar glands are hyperplastic. The lamina propria demonstrates edema with vascular congestion. This is not associated with a signifcant inflammatory infiltrate. There is no evidence of atypia or malignancy.
