I find this strange ...

I went to the emergency room last night for upper left side abdominal pain. The doctor did a blood and a urine test and told me they both came back fine so it's nothing serious. He gave me a script for donnatel elixer which is basically for IBS then told me to go for a follow up and that was it. So here I am, the next day, still in a lot of pain and still not knowing what is wrong with me. He didn't perform and ultrasound, sonogram, CT scan, or anything. I find that strange. Anyone know why he wouldn't perform any of those tests and just send me off for a follow up?

Wow. That's horrible. Yea my pain started on saturday like mid day and here it is tuesday and I'm still in the same amount of pain. I tried out the prescription the doctor gave me and it didn't help at all. Luckily I have a followup appt tomorrow and I refuse to leave the doctor's office until they figure out what's wrong with me. In the spot that the pain is, it could be a number of things. My stomach, my gallbladder, my pancreas. All of which have the ability to become serious if it's not already. Had they done an ultrasound, they probably would have found the problem. Also I'm under the charity care at that hospital and I know for sure that had something to do with my neglect.

I went through the same thing. Luckily I was lucky to talk a referral out of them and I'm getting my gall bladder surgery on Tuesday.

Was last September when I started hurting.

All I can guess is there are so many people going to the ER for Colds, Flu, etc... that they have become desensitized to people who really have ailments.

I went 4 times in September with left Abdominal pain. The last 2 times they took blood ad urine and , actually, lied to me about the tests they were doing.

All they were, actually, doing were drug tests.

I've lost a  lot of faith and trust in ER doctors. Most of them are a joke and none of them care at all.

thats the new way docs are doing stuff in the er,,well have been for awhile, they dont want to do anything thats going to find anything,,they want you to consult a regular doc and go in for tests,,,they figure your not going to die in a few days before your follow up!,,,its a shame, but look at the people who have no insurance that go to the hospitals dieing!!,,they actualy throw them in a cab,and send them down the road to die!!!
