Unable to eat or metabolize any sugar or carbohydrate

Can anyone help me to know why my body will not accept or metabolize any sugar or carbohydrate whatsoever? I am only able to eat lettuce, chicken, fish, eggs, and water. If I have anything like rice, or even a green bean, I get alot of pain in my stomach, tachycardia, swelling in my head with throbbing pain, sinus congestion, nervousness, anxiety, and even a change in personality. I've tried taking digestive enzymes, and it helped with the bloating, and severe flatulence, but all the other symptoms I just listed above still occur. I'm very weak and hungry and tired of eating only meat and lettuce. I'm also worried that I'm not getting any calories or glucose for my brain and heart.
I can't even have a salad with tomatoes and cucumbers because they have sugar in them. I was so hungry one day that I had about 1 oz of orange juice and it was like I had swallowed poison. I went to a gastroenterologist and he is ordering lab work, a sonogram, and possible endoscopy, but offered no help about what I could eat. Any clues?

Have you tried seeing a naturalpath doctor? It could be a yeast overgrowth problem- candida in your intestines.  I used to have problems with carbs and sugar. I have chest pain and get easily irritable after eating carbs. My sinus will get worse after I cosume sugar. I started with detoxifying my body about a year ago. I replaced my sugar for cooking with birch sugar and cut down my carbs to less than 30 g per day. I also cut out all the processed food and turn to something called a caveman diet (only uses salt, pepper, herbs for seasoning, and eats tons of low carb fresh vegetables). I initially lost a lot of weight (down two sizes) but am able to think a lot clearer and sleep a lot better and no more nightmares. I am now gaining them back as muscle (with regular exercise). Hope this helps.

Please tell us what happened with your condition.

What was it and how did you treat it.

I have similar problems, except I get an adrenaline rush, anxiety, etc.
