Is it normal for a health insurance plan to not include any pharmacys?

I haven't used my new plan yet, though on the surface it seems pretty good. I'm going to get the shingles vax, though am surprised there aren't any pharmacies on it for the vax, only doctors offices. There's plenty of choices among doctor offices, so that isn't a problem, I just thought it was odd there weren't any pharmacies because I would rather go there.

Any feedback on this is appreciated.

That is odd. What I would do is actually CALL a pharmacy and check. I'm not sure what vaccine you are referring to but I get all of my vaccines at the pharmacy and my insurance just covers them. Check around. You still may be able to.

Hello~I have been doing a Google search for you and I can't seem to find any either, I am surprised that this is the case, have you tried calling any to see if they will do it, I understand that you do not need a prescription for one.

Here is what it said:  SHINGRIX is available at most nearby pharmacies — and you do not need to bring a prescription from your doctor to receive it.

Thank you for the reply. I should have been more clear, I am aware of pharmacies that have Shingrix, I just thought it was odd that there weren't any pharmacies that have it under my insurance. So, when you say that you do not need a prescription to receive Shingrix, are you saying that there is also no charge? I was hoping to avoid the charge. Thank you for looking that up.
You are very welcome. Yes, there is a charge and it seems quite expensive.
