Possible health issues from last night? Silica in my bloodstream?

I have been doing a diy tile project for my house. Last night I was emptying my tile cutter's water since there was so much tile dust in it and the pump was not working. While the water was coming out of the tub I used my hands to move the water to get more dust out, and I noticed I got a cut in my finger while doing that. At this point, I'm thinking silica has entered my blood stream. How likely would that be since silica is 100X smaller than a grain of sand? Have I increased my chances of kidney damage or cardiovascular issues now?

Hello~I can understand your concern, but I think it is probably highly unlikely that this has happened given the fact that you did not get a large amount in the cut or continue for hours. If you are concerned, however, you should ask your GP, they will be able to give you more of a detailed answer.
