Will I get sea sick on a cruise ship?

I want to go on a cruise, I've never been on one before. I'd like to know if I can get sea sick. Being a girl, I may be more likely to get it. BUT, I don't have motion sickness. I can go on roller coasters, read in the car, and go on a ride through hilly areas and bumpy roads. I've been on small boats before and I've been fine. I don't know if genetics affect anything, but my dad was in the Navy, and he was perfectly fine. I have a stomach of steal (my only weakness is Mexican food!)

You can wear a tight wristband on your left wrist to prevent motion sickness.... there is a spot about 1/2" from your hand on your wrist that prevents motion sickness when you press on it.  - My sister in law tried it  - she just tightened her watch band and it worked...

You'll be fine - cruise ships are like a pool table (that is why they have them on them)  it's difficult to even tell that you are on the water! If you can ride a roller coaster, then you'll have no problem with the insignificant motion on a cruise ship :)

Sea sickness is a form of motion sickness, but its perception varies from person to person or from different climatic conditions, types of water, speed of cruise.

OTC medications like Cinnarizine/Stugeron,transdermal pathches of Scopolomine/Hyoscine,Promethazine can help you.Though these medications have side effects yet being potential enough to mask Motion sickness. You do not seem to be suffering from 'Mal de debarquement' since you enjoy rides of roller coasters, long drive highways. Brace yourselves and enjoy the trip.
