stool color while taking iron
i have been taking iron pills for approx. 3 mo. in the being my stool were dark green. (was told to expect this) now they are back to normal color. is this common to change from dark to light while taking iron for prolong period of time.
Apparently the stools sometimes are even black the change in colour is the usual side effect of iron medication
if more of iron s gettin absorbed in the gut, less will be excreted n that can cause normal stool color..
Hi...i can only guess, but if ur system was lacking the iron, when u first started ur body most likely could not and did not absorb all u were taking by supplement...and was noticed in ur waste. As u continue to take it ur body adjusts and absorbs more to a natural balance...so u see ur waste go to a more natural color.
