Went to ER:  X-rayed and Ultra-sounded me.
No problems located other than old age, arthritis-degenerative; given shot for swelling and naproxen pills..
Treated for sprained ankle!

I believe that I would have known if I sprained something, feels better this morning but does not look very good. Still painful to the tough, no issues walking or bending foot..
At least I have peace of mind now..

A "purple" foot may indicate a lack of oxygen and circulation. You need an evaluation at an ER.

If something was broken, you would feel it I would think. You say your feet swell during the day while up on them....my Mom suffered with CHF, and as a result, had bad circulation in her lower extremities, which over time, would cause tiny capillary veins to burst under the skin. In hindsight, blood under the dermal skin layer = dark, black & blue bruising. Have it checked out asap, especially if there's any pain associated with it. Good luck :)

Have you been to get an x-ray? Usually when something goes black/blue it is broken...? Maybe you have a small crack in a bone you didn't know happened? Def should go to hospital/walk in clinic to get it seen.
