My now 6 year old use to get red cheeks. all the doctor here could tell me was that it was his "funny" way of getting a viral infection. I can't understand, he had no cold symptoms.  he does react funny at times to viral infections but I don't think this is viral infection
good luck

It sure sounds like the 5th disease which is a type of measles.  Check with your doctor.  My son had this when he was about 4.  It moved down his body to his arms and torso before it was gone.

Do you live in a windy area I noticed a few years ago a nephews cheeks were red but it was from the chill and the wind, keep some vaseline handy its greasy and acts like a barrier.
