HIV RISK PLEASE

Hi,

I am a male. I had sex with another male. I was the receptive partner (put inside my anus)  the condom unfortunately broke. Am I at risk of hiv. I did take prep before the encounter. But only for 5 days before?

PrEP reaches maximum effectiveness at 7 days, so obviously you're protected, but not at the maximum level.  Talk to your doctor about whether to alter your medication, and when to test for HIV from this encounter.

Hi,

Thanks for the reply.
But we also use and even based dosing option in England as-well. Wouldn’t this be covered under that method
No one here has any idea what combo you are taking, and in what amounts.  You need to talk to the doctor who prescribed PrEP to you and discuss this event.
Has your partner tested for HIV recently?
Hi,

Was a one off person of Grindr, do not have a clue about his status.

A-bit about on demand dosing: this dosing option is only suitable for anal sex, not vaginal or frontal sex. If you’re using On Demand it’s really important not to miss any doses.
On Demand dosing is as effective as daily PrEP for anal sex.

If you know that you might have condomless sex 24 hours in advance:

take 2 pills 2 – 24 hours before sex
take 1 pill 24 hours later
take 1 more pill 24 hours after that
If you’re having sex for an extended period of time, perhaps over a few days or a weekend, continue to take a pill every 24 hours until you have 2 sex-free days.

I’m guessing it’s just an option used in the United Kingdom then.
It's possibly an option in the US as well, but I'm not that familiar with the details of PrEP apart from the efficacy statistics that are publicly available, and documented in studies.

Since you had a risk, again, you may wish to talk to your provider about whether you should continue taking PrEP, or get PEP.   We don't interfere by providing extensive advice in situations where an individual is taking prescribed medication, or is otherwise under the care of a physician/clinic, as they are the best resource to assess your personal situation and advise you accordingly.
Can I tell the real truth. It is all true apart form the common didn’t split I could smell semen / cum after from my anus hence worried. Sorry I lied
*comdom
Wasting our time is rude.  Unless the condom split wide open, visibly, you were never at risk no matter what you smelled.
