forgive or forget

my friend sent me an email yesterday . he is a friend that i haven't seen in 7 years and he wants me to forgive him   . he is hiv+ which by the way i didn't know once he found out that he was positive he would invite us to his house as usual and he mixed his blood with the nachos sauce and with the drinks because he wanted to infect us. and now he feels guilty.
i have 2 questions
1> is there a risk on me from that?
2> should i sue him for that?
3> should i forgive him?
