Yesterday I went for a shave at a salon. There I had a very small cut over my chin and as a result, few drops of blood came out. However, I had made sure at the beginning that the blade in the razor was replaced with a new one by barber. He soon took out a piece of Potash Alum and -dipped it inside water (I can't exactly remember whether he dipped it before applying to my chin for the first time or not, but most probably he did) and then rubbed against my wound. The water was a normal tap water, there were no visible blood clots over alum he used and he rubbed it 2-3 times on my chin and dipped it into water after every rub on my chin.
my question- 1. Are there any chances of survival of HIV on Potash Alum.
2. Can HIV be transmitted this way?
3. Is there any other risk of infection associated with this?
Thanks.
