Condom Break - HIV Risk

I had sex with a female CSW a bit more than a 3 years ago and the condom broke. She immediately noticed, I pulled of and changed to a new one. The tip of my penis was exposed for a few seconds. I am circumcised. I didn't make much of the issue and do not recall having symptoms but. A few days back this episode came back to my head and now I can't take it off. I am really concerned about this episode and very worried about HIV.

A few questions:
1) How high is the risk of the episode?
2) I often read that there almost no cases recorded in the forums where transmission goes via broken condoms. Is that true? Anything to share about that?

Really appreciate the help from folks in this forum to go through this - this is driving me crazy

Thanks!

I meant the the percentage of sex workers who have HIV is less than one percent. However the risk is high because of the broken condom. Don't know how common it is but there was a risk nonetheless. I'd think the chances this sex worker had HIV to begin with is very slim but a condom break is a risk. I do know that being circumcised decreases the risk slightly but bottom line is you had a risk. So get tested.

It was risky because your condom broke. Take a test because of your mental health.

Questions to all: why do you say risk is less than 1% -- in acute period its bigger. It is less than 1% when person is on treatment.

Thanks a lot for the reply! In this case, is it possible to ***** how big the risk is?

Also, do you know how common is to acquire HIV in these type of incidents?

Sex workers who insist on condoms usually do so for a reason. To stay safe. I highly doubt that person had HIV. But only a test will tell you.

There was a risk since the condom broke. However the chances a sex worker has HIV is less than 1 percent (Hunter Handsfield HIV Expert). If you are worried about HIV any modern test you take now will give you a conclusive result from that exposure.
