Environmental transmission

Hi Everyone,

I am a young male who recently had a recent risky exposure and am currently awaiting window periods to do testing, etc. I am home from college at my family's house and I was not sure if I need to take extra precautions, especially in the bathroom, to avoid transmission to my family members.

I am particularly concerned about my mother, as she has developed a rash on her face that comes and goes that she never had before. My biggest fear would be to hurt someone else, should I in fact be infected.

Can toilet use/fecal particles or semen on a tissue/in the bathroom possibly cause infection?

I must sound very uneducated about this topic, but the CDC website I just came from was rather ambiguous about environmental transmission.

Thank you

I would hope that eveyone had good hygene but you wouldn't have a risk off the toilet seat or anything else.

Thanks for the response.

Does this mean that people who are certain that they are infected also do not take precautions beyond that of a non-infected person when it comes to defecating and cleaning semen? I would like to act as if I'm sure I have it unless the test shows that I do not.

And thanks again!
