High Concern of HIV Exposure

Hi everyone. So, in a nutshell, I am a 25-year-old female and I recently got tested for the first time ever, and I tested positive for Chlamydia. I am going to get tested for HIV next week and I am pretty afraid especially after finding out I have Chlamydia despite NEVER having any symptoms, which makes me even more concerned that I could have potentially been exposed to HIV at some point.

Throughout the years I've had a total of 9 partners, and had unprotected sex with 4 of them. However, with each of them, I have given and or received oral. I was able to get in touch with 4 of my most recent partners, and each of them says they have been tested recently and have tested negative for HIV among other things. It's pretty hard to track who I may have contracted Chlamydia from although one of my partners whom I was having sex with unprotected last year was also seeing other people. He is one of the 4 who says he tested negative for everything, which he says he went to get tested after we stopped dating, but I am still pretty scared. I live in Atlanta which is among the states with the highest rates of HIV and I am seriously regretting being so damn irresponsible. Anyway, what are the odds of me actually being exposed? I mean, I  know I won't know for sure until I am tested but, I'm hoping and praying this forum could help ease my mind a bit. I should also make it clear that I have had no symptoms of HIV, however, I know people don't always have symptoms(from what I have researched). But any info or advice is greatly appreciated, thanks so much!

If your contact was limited to unprotected oral sex only, then you should not worry about HIV and you will get a Negative test report, rest assured. It is possible that you might have picked up Chlamydia from one of your partners because it is possible to contract the infection via unprotected oral sex. One can transmit Chlamydia through unprotected sex but not HIV

Hi and thanks so much for your response. I have had unprotected sex both orally and vaginally with 4 partners which really freaks me out. I have read the odds of contracting HIV from male to female sex but, it just the "what if" factor.
Probability of acquiring HIV from an act of unprotected sex with a partner having unknown health status is not very significant. There is a strong possibility that your partners were not HIV infected, and in such case, the possibility of transmission remain non-existent because one cannot give something he does not have. Risk is not very significant but not zero either if one gets involved in unprotected vaginal/anal sex.

Keep your fingers crossed and proceed for the test. Test is the only way for us to determine our health status conclusively and lay all our residual worries to rest permanently.  Wishing you all the best. Next time, never ever unprotected with anyone, outside your mutually committed monogamous relationship. Remember, the best friend of a girl is the condom, not her boy friend.
Thank you so much. You have been so gracious and kind with your responses. You are so right, I will certainly make these changes from now on. Serious relationships and condoms EVERY SINGLE TIME, no exceptions. I will keep my fingers crossed for the test. Thanks again.
Thanks for your kind words. Hope you will get your test report, declaring you free from HIV and it will certainly be the time for a "woo-hoo" for you.  It will be good if you share the results here at the forum
Thank you so much:) I do have one last inquiry that I forgot to mention earlier in my original post. Back in January during sex, the condom came off. Not only that, it got....stuck inside of me. I apologize for the icky details, but that also makes me even more worried as I am not sure how dangerous that is in terms of HIV. Because it not only came off, but it also got stuck and he and I were not sure how long it had come off but I am hoping this does not increase my chances too much of being at risk if he does by chance have HIV.
You can't assign useful probabilities to something like that last incident, and worrying isn't good, so I would focus on divers advice instead whenever you get worried.
That's true, thanks so much for the advice. You guys have been an amazing help.
You can get a conclusive result from a duo after 4 weeks and any other test requires 3 month window period.
Thank you, and just out of curiosity do you know by any chance the stats on asymptomatic symptoms? As I said in my first post I've never had any symptoms that would have alarmed me in terms of HIV. But, lately this has been on my mind.
Just wanted to post a quick update. I took the Oraquick HIV at home test and it came back negative:) Thanks again for all your advice and support, you guys are the best!
