HIV risk for gay sex

Hi I had sex with a male on 25th December 2010.. The sex involved him dipping his **** in me, and me ******* him without a condom. I didn't come in him nor him in me by dipping not sure about precum. Before sex I asked for condom he told me he was HIV negative and had results from 2 months earlier to prove it.. On 11th February 2011 I noticed I had a sore throat, fever and headache. Therfore Decided to have a HIV test on the 17th February, don't no why test this was but when I rang them they said it was a duo test but I believe it was a p24 antigen test. This came back negative, but have to repeat after the 3 month mark. I amscared as I had chlamydia and gonorehha in the back passage, I am sure this was related to this as I always used condoms in the past. ATM I have swollen lymph node in right side of neck which has been there since 3 weeks or so, I also believe I have lost weight on my face but don't no if it's true or anxiety! Please someone help

Btw when I rang them they was like what you mean what kind of test, they go we took ur blood and sent it to a lab. I go yes I know that I mean as in an antigent, antibody or duo meaning both then she was like I think duo.

They might have as I told them I had a exposure at 4 weeks before with a female but I know she is negative. When i rang them they said it was duo test but when I went to get my results I'm sure on the computer it said p24 antigen non reactive nothing about antibodies. Well think I'm going to wait till my follow up on 18 April confirm which test it was then maybe have a conclusive test. Thanks anyway

They wouldn't use only a p24 test on you. You said, they said, it was a Duo test. Follow up with an antibody test for a conclusive result.

Last question must be doing your head in, even if it was a negative p24 antigen test alone is it less likely to change? I want to move on but knowing I am positive will kill me and I'm allready thinking of how to kill myself if this does happen, but then living like this and being paroined about every little thing on my body is killing me everyday also.  I sound like a freak but true hope all is negative

If you took the Duo test it looks for both. The antibody would just be at a higher level. Get your 3 month conclusive result, so you can move on. It is very unlikely to be positive after you negative result.

Fanks for comments people really appreciated. The thing is I'm scared to test now as I believe if I contracted an STD I would have got HIV! Plus I thing my test was an antigen test so no way at 54 days will it test positive even if it was as I heard when the antibodies are formed antigens are not present.

You can test now for a conclusive result! Your negative 8 week test is unlikely to change

3 months is when you can obtain a conclusive test using an antibody test. Oral sex is not a risk but the penitration is a risk.

Use condoms no matter what a test says until you are in a relationship and both people have tested.
